Great Lakes Palliative Care Support Inc.
The Great Lakes Palliative Care Support Inc. (formally known as Great Lakes Hospice Inc.) is a not-for-profit, community-based charity. We are focused on supporting palliative care services and filling the gaps in care that are needed initially until service provision can be implemented. We aim at educating the community to be more comfortable around end-of-life issues, to ensure care and comfort for bereaved members is available within the community. We endeavor to educate the community and raise awareness of end of life issues through education, forums and advertising. We were originally founded in 1989 in Forster NSW Australia.
Regular consultations with staff of the Community Palliative Care team, Forster Private Hospital and Mid Coast Assist ensure that help is given where it is needed most. We provide this assistance to people of the Forster-Tuncurry and surrounding areas in need of palliative care or who have a life-limiting illness, and to their carers and families.
